CSLD Focus

Glenn Young, and other CSLD consultants, can provide you with training and other supports on the issues of Learning Disabilities in adults in such areas as:

What are learning disability Definitions in modern terms, for adult populations;

What does research say are the best accommodations that enable persons with learning disabilities to be successful in employment and education programs;

What policy changes are needed to ensure that your programs are accessible for persons with learning disabilities and what are the key elements that will enable a system to develop

the needed changes, in a cost effective fashion, and 'real world' setting, that will enable the systems to best identify and serve persons with learning disabilities and having both the 'consumer' and 'provide' meet their goals.

January 2008:
CSLD contracts with GED testing services to redesign accommodation process for the GED test.

December 2007:
CSLD launches new effort to increase the use of technology in the area of accommodations for Learning Disabilities.

September 2007:
Glenn Young visits UK and meets with leading software developer to explore new approach to literacy through the use of technology.

Presentations:
* Key Note Addresses and Staff training options include:
Half Day (minimum training offered), Full Day, 3-5 day training (preferred approach)

Leadership training on policy issues:
1 hour, Half day or Full Day.

On-going policy consultation:
Based on State or local need - on-going consulting for leadership in systems change process Development of written policy on disabilities issues. Paper and Manual Development:
Targeted papers to meet local needs Journal and newsletter articles Website Development on LD issues.

Types of services offered:
Mr Young offers a variety of services designed to meet your program design and presentation format. This approaches include one-time and long term training and support efforts, including:

* LD training for line-staff, management and policy developers:
* Conferences presentations, including:
* Preconference and conference training sessions
* Keynotes and plenary presentations
* Panel participation
* "Systemic Change" training (with a focus on disabilities issues)
The systemic change process requires a number of trainings and support services over a period of time (usually no less than six months)

Other services include, but
not limited to:

* LD Web page development
* Writing of articles on LD and specific population and service areas
* Consulting on research design
* Support for local peer to peer self help group development

FEES:
Fees are negotiable based on the type of event, capacity of the organization, and overall size of the project and length of time required.

Standard rate for training:
(not including expenses)

Single day - $2000
Two or more - $1500 per day
Conference / Standard sessions - $700 per session
Keynote, Plenary sessions - $2000
For writing and web page development - $150 per hour
