CULTURAL EXTENTION PROGRAM
Character Tower: Workshop with a wide scope of topics such as: Team-Work, Balance & Values, Centering life, and Patience & Humility. The 4 cardinal principles to live by. Workshop may involve up to 60 people in 12 teams and takes 90 to 120 minutes. Tour of El Buen Amigo - Brief history and detailed description of the gallery"s artifacts and the fascinating background of the extraordinary people who create them. [30 minutes] Story Teller - Discover the legend of folklore and customs of the Latin American countries represented in the gallery. [30-60 minutes] Pinata Workshop - The history and legend of the pinata is revealed by making a pinata with step-by-step instruction. [60 minutes] Lunch - Enjoy an authentic Latin American meal. [30 minutes] Latino Dance Class - Learn and experience the history of Latin rhythmic dances such as Meringue and Salsa. The Latin American Cultural Association [LACA] and El Buen Amigo invite the Greater Buffalo Area community, high schools, teachers and students, to participate in an educational field trip. It is designed to create awareness on special topics that include Latin American culture, globalization, free trade, sweatshops, international economic policy, living wages, fair trade and related social justice issues.
